First stop this week was Sion Mills on Monday night. It was my first time in Sion Mills and I had a great time. I was performing at a charity function for a lovely couple called Raymond and Eunice Moan. I arrived up at the gig a little earlier than normal to meet up with Country Harmony, a fantastic band, who were backing me that night. I always like to go through which songs I’m doing with every band just to make sure everyone’s happy and knows exactly what’s going on. Along with myself there was also a list of fabulous country singers.

There was Robert Mizzell, Kim Dickinson, Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis, Joe Moore and Anthony McBrien. It was a great night and the audience at the concert were so lively it made everyone enjoy themselves that little bit extra. It always makes my life a lot easier knowing the audience are enjoying it as much as I am. Next I moved on to the Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown on Wednesday night. This was to launch a new CD of Declan Nerney’s and also to present one of Ireland’s finest songwriters Henry McMahon with an award for his contribution to Irish Country Music. A well-deserved award and the place was jammed to the door which was great to see. As many of you know Henry wrote many big hits including Your Wedding Day for Jimmy Buckley and of course Mama Courtney for Robert Mizzell and lots more for some of the top country artists in Ireland today. They all attended the event and sang a few songs each to give their thanks to Henry for all his hard work which was lovely to see and also to take part in. The last few days I have been working hard on different goals and ideas that I hope to achieve over the next few months including songs for my new album which will hopefully be finished and available for purchase very soon. I’m heading back to Glasgow for a few days to get everything organised and take over the last of my things for when I return to Ireland for my tour with Crystal Swing. Don’t forget tickets for all of the dates are available for purchase now. Details of dates and venues are listed on www.lisa-mchugh.com Until next week, take care.
